I need help with a masking problem.

We have a simple problem...We are powder coating some threaded steel pipe. We mask the threaded ends with tape [green powder coating tape] (affil link). Look into cap plugs made out of high temp material. There are numerous advertisements for them in the Metal Finishing Guidebook.
