Plating on plastic

Seeking info on supporting electrolyte use in nickel plating on different types of plastic. please don't hesitate to give me a help. Thanks.

I want to make Polyester or Plastic covered with nickel and I don't know which process. Does someone know a process that can help me?

We have a low temperature PVD process that works on plastics. The coating adhesion is great, and a wide variety of coatings can be deposited -- including hard coatings such as TiN and ZrN. We might be able to help you if you tell us your application.

Metals are the easiest to deposit. Nickel is somewhat more difficult because it is ferromagnetic -- we use magnets in our arc sources -- but this problem can be overcome.

youssef, you may want to use a plating on plastic commercial process which is made on injection molded abs plastic parts. if your application is casted polyester resin (in rubber molds)then a different process should be used involving metallising the part,heavy copper plating it and then nickel plate. daniel
