Activation of Hard Nickel Alloy

Base metal is a Sulfamate bath with boron and saccharin additves, very hard. 10% nitric acid only tarnishes it. My question is how to activate and plate Ni Sulfamate on this with good adheasion. I have tried 1:2 Sulfuric Acid soak , deplate and plate , and plate modes , no success. Also Woods bath methods also no success. Any ideas would be appreaciated.

Hi Harry. Try to use a alkaline rust remover in 1-2 minutes hold the part cathode and second step use a very purify sulfuric acid with fluoride acid in 45 seconds when that starting gasing, hold the part cathode. Third step use nickel strike in 4-5 minutes. Regards, Anders Sundman
