Water pipe connectors turning green

I have copper fittings adjoining plastic pipe that has started turning green at the joints and I and concerned that a leak is imminent. Is there a filter available to neutralize whatever is causing this potential problem? The pipes carry drinking water only.

I wouldn't mess with drinking water beyond possibly installing a filter certified as a final filter for drinking water. It's not drinking water anymore if you install any kind of treatment. If a leak is imminent, a filter won't prevent it; but I wouldn't be so sure a leak is imminent, it could be just condensation. Call a plumber, they are used to looking at green copper pipe fittings and will fix it or reassure you.
