Petrol resistance - 2k PU system

Q. We would like to know about the Petrol resistance of PU lacquer (2 K) system, suggest the test method to evaluate the performance in Petrol resistance test.

A. Dear sir,

The double rub test should be okay for this. Soak a cotton cloth with petrol, vigorously rub over the cured coating several times. Rubbing twice is a double rub. Calculate the number of double rubs required to soften the coating. Normally 50 double rubs is a pass. If you put stringent Quality control, then 200 double rubs may be okay.
