How to replace the inside coating of a microwave with tape

My question is about microwave ovens. mine is getting old, some parts of the inside coating are coming off, specially on the back part of the inside of the oven, can I put something to cover it? like adhesive tape for example? or what should I do? I'm not in a position to buy a new one yet. Thank you for your time.
