How to refinish my Garland commercial range backsplash

I would like to refinish the backsplash portion of a Garland commercial gas range. It is either steel or stainless steel, not sure which. The metal panel is easily removed from the range.

Hi, Thomas. If it is metallic looking as opposed to painted, then it is some grade of stainless steel because plain steel would rust too fast to be useable. There are a lot of letters on line here about repairing scratches on stainless appliances and sinks, and I think they will answer your questions. Good luck.
