Diecast aluminum alloy cleaning

Q. What is the best alkaline chemistry to clean diecast aluminum alloy surface?

A. Hi: proprietary cleaners formulated for cleaning aluminum are available from any of the plating process suppliers listed in our Chemicals directory (or your local yellow pages). Properly formulated cleaners involve saponifying agents, wetters and emulsifiers, deflocculating materials, chelates or sequestering agent, buffers, inhibitors, and more -- tailored to the particular dirt. Getting all those individual materials if you knew a good mix, would be a hassle. Good luck.
