Paint gloss standards

Q. Where can I find a specification or standard to define the gloss range for paints per fed standard 595? We are looking to define range for flat, semi-gloss and gloss?

A. I am not sure if I understand your question, but gloss can be measured using two different methods: Distinctness of Image (DOI) and Specular Gloss. ASTM D5767 [withdrawn] is used for the former and ASTM D523 is used for the latter. Your paint supplier should be able to perform these tests and report the appropriate ranges.
