Copper/Galvanized gutter combination

Can I put galvanized gutters in copper brackets (holders) or will they cause each other to corrode? If this will happen how can I prevent it? Will painting the galvanized gutter work?

It is not good practice because you will probably get accelerated corrosion of the galvanized coating on the gutter in the area of the copper hanger. What happens is this crevice area will tend to stay wet and you will have a corrosion battery operating there. It is better to insulate the two materials. Rather than painting the gutter, I would consider the possibility of heavily painting or taping the back of the copper brackets where they touch the gutter.
