-----Pretreatment in coil coating line
Please provide me info about the difference in terms of cost & effect of different pretreatment used in coil coating line. What is the difference between chromating & phosphating?
Thank you,

Phosphating is for steel parts. Chromating is for aluminum parts. It is possible to phosphate aluminum parts if one has only a single pretreatment line, but it is generally not considered as good as chromating.

Chromatizing applied on Al & Al alloy parts while phosphate is applicable mostly for ferrous parts.it might be used for Al parts. Chromatize is of yellow or colourless in colour and have no visual appearance of coating on component while we can see the phosphate layer visually bluish grey in colour and tested by finger nail scratch test.
