Triple Dipping Plastic Like Car Rims
Hey,
I have a guy that said that his process of triple show coating plastic is the same method for dipping chrome rims/Bumpers/ETC. Is this possible? From my understanding through your site is that the only method is electro plating or vacuum plating ! Can you Triple dip plastic in any way or form?

He is correct. In fact the majority of automobile grills, headlamp surrounds, tail light bezels, etc. are plastic and are factory electroplated using the method he claims.
The misunderstanding probably lies in the imprecise meaning of the word "dipping". Nickel-chrome plating is a "dipping" process in the sense that the parts are immersed in vats of plating solution; but it is not a "dipping" process in the sense of strawberries being dipped in chocolate. There is never molten nickel or molten chrome involved; rather the nickel and chrome are always applied through electroplating.
