A. What happens is it probably won’t work :-)
You may need to purchase a proprietary process from a supplier who offers non-cyanide alkaline zinc plating chemistry. For efficiency you may also need some new equipment including a “generation tank”. Zinc oxide without proper additives and control will yield an unsatisfactory deposit.
