Anodes for anodizing small parts?

2003

I have two questions for this post.

1, Can anyone recommend a good anode to use for anodizing small parts. I currently use the hanging wire method, but have some parts that I worry about. Mainly, I want to anodize paintball gun barrels. I can't put the wire on the inside of the barrel because it would risk scratching the polished finish.

2, Does anyone know if the anodizing stripper would eat through a regular off the shelf party balloon? I know it sounds stupid, but I was thinking about using a long balloon to protect the anodized finish of the inside of a paintball gun barrel.

Thanks again!

I am still looking for an alternative to the wire hanging method. I was thinking about having some anode clamps custom made out of Titanium. I have read somewhere that titanium will still conduct after anodizing...

Any thoughts or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Yes, you heard right. You can use titanium without having to strip it between runs.

Aluminum is actually better as long as it will maintain adequate contact pressure and is stripped between uses (only a few minutes). That said, we used titanium racks for many things. We did strip those Ti racks periodically.
