HARD ANODIZING




I'M STUDENT OF MS IN METALLURGY IN TEHRAN UNIVERSITY . I HAVE A PROBLEM ABOUT MY THESIS AND I NEED YOUR HELP. THE PROBLEM IS ABOUT HARD ANODIZING AT ROOM TEMPERATURE AND ALSO THE TEMP. SHOULDN'T INCREASE THAN 40 °C. PLEASE HELP ME FOR CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF BATHS THAT CAN PROVIDE THIS AIM. THANKS ALOT MHG.

Hello, Mr. Good. Those baths actually do nothing towards absorbing the heat which the rectifier electricity creates in the bath. All they do is allow you to do quasi hard anodizing at about 10 °C instead of having to maintain 0 °C. I think such additives are generally based on such chemicals as glycolic and oxalic acids, but are generally proprietary. Therefore, if anyone can reference a published article for you, that would be fine, but otherwise you would have to independently search the literature. Good luck.
