"Aqua Regia Gold and Aluminum"

-----

2003

Will aluminum in an aqua regia solution with gold cause problem precipitating gold from solution? I'm trying to strip gold from Computer CPU's. 2 of the cpus have small aluminum heat syncs. There are about 20 cpus total.

I would suggest filtering your solution before precipitating the gold, other than that it shouldn't be a problem. You could always dissolve the aluminum in sodium hydroxide first if desired.

Good Luck,
