Ken also cautioned that ASTM B633 does not cover electroplated sheet, which is covered by ASTM A591/A591M, or wire, for which there is no ASTM spec for electroplated coatings and several hot-dip galvanized standards instead.

A. Don’t know the age of this spec., but its 2nd revision, QQ-Z-235C, was issued Aug. 18, 1976 and cancelled March 9, 1982. Referral was made to ASTM B633, “Standard Specification for Electrodeposited Coatings of Zinc on Iron and Steel”. This does not cover electroplated sheet (see ASTM A591/A591M) or wire (no ASTM spec. for electroplated, several for hot-dip galvanized).
