Surface roughness values

What is the Ra and Rz values of surface roughness that can be achieved in the extrude honing and AFM process.

The answer depends on the media. Just like mass finishing equipment, extrude or abrasive flow machine systems depend on the grit size of the abrasive used and viscosity plays a part. In most cases the surface profile will only be as fine as the grit size of the media. The finer or smaller the grit the finer the surface finish. Typically, the system is equal to mass finishing methods; however, they are superior in working I.D.'s. or hard to reach areas.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
