Need zinc plating of sheet metal assemblies

2003

Hello,

I am Ken Murphy at a manufacturing company. I am currently quoting a sheet metal assembly that was made in Japan and has been converted to English. The parts call out for Electro Galvanized zinc plating. Is this the wrong terminology? I can't find any platers that will do this. From what I understand Hot Dip Galvanized would warp the metal (.048, .060, .090 & .125 thick) Maybe they mean zinc plate? Can anybody clarify this process &/or does anyone do it in Florida? Any Replies are Appreciated Ken Murphy

"Electrogalvanized" is a term long used abroad, that is increasing in popularity due to increasing world trade. It doesn't mean anything different or more specific than "zinc electroplated".
