Alternate Chromate Coating to meet European Council requirement

2003

I am looking to find information on alternatives to chromate coating to meet the new European Council recommendations for electrical and electronic equipments. Any websites links will also be useful.

Thanks,

You could try one of the following approaches to either a trivalent chrome or a non chromate topcoat for zinc.

As of now we have till 2006-7 to conform to a Non Chromate film over zinc.

1) Go to ELV on the net and follow up the developments.
2) Go to Finishing.com and scroll thru the correspondence on this issue
3) Connect with plating suppliers listed on Finishing.com.
