Copper sheeting

I would like to use copper for a backsplash. I want it to be smooth for cleaning ease. We are trying to find sheeting (could be flashing?) in 30 /36 in width 25 foot roll. Would this need polyurethaned or can it be left natural and if natural what is best for cleaning? Home improvement stores act like this is impossible. Please advise.

Large Roofing Supply Company is where I obtain copper such as you describe. Also check with large central heat and air companies. They also can order and provide your copper, either sheet or flashing. Also thanks for the idea, my wife and I are building a house and she is nuts for copper. If you need any bending done the heat and air people have large metal breaks, (they use them to make ductwork) and can help you with that.
