Acrylic Metal Lacquer Breakdown

We refinish brass, copper, and silver. We are currently using an Acrylic Metal Lacquer from Sherwin Williams,we are having breakdown and darkening of coating on ext. items as well as brass headboards and furniture hardware. It seems to be things that come into contact with skin oils mainly. Can you recommend a product that holds up better in these cases? Something to be used with a spray gun.

Acrylic lacquers should not darken when exposed to sunlight. Brass headboards and furniture parts should be coated with a nitrocellulose based coating, but this will turn yellow when exposed to the sun.
