Anti Oxidating Anode
If somebody has an idea !?
We are using graphite as an anode in an electrolytic process with tap or well water. Graphite is an organic material and goes into solution so that one have to replace it once in a while.
THE QUESTION NOW IS:
What metal finising ( plating ) is it possible to substitute this graphite anode that can stand electric charges in an electrolytic process with water and a stainless steel cathode? What basic material will be the best to plate?

I would consider a platinized titanium anode, as manufactured by Electrode Products of Warren NJ, Eltech Systems, Chardon, OH, or Technic.

As Ted told you, platinized titanium is an eternal anode in your application. For economical reason, there are also some other alternative materials, depending on the purposes of the electrolytic process, the potential range on the anode, and the chemical properties and compositions of the electrolytic solution. If chloride is low, pH is above 7, and there is no complexing or chelating agents added to the solution,then titanium, nickel, stainless steel may be used as the anode materials in your application. Of course,you have to test them in your lab first.
