The alloy of choice is 6063t6. It is the most durable Aluminum alloy for sulfuric acid anodizing baths, both type II and III hard coat. We have system using this alloy in the field for over 2 1/2 years with minimal material loss even without cathode protection. Although there is some difference of opinion on the matter we prefer the flexibility of bolted connections. Attend the talk at Sur/Fin on equipment updates in anodizing in Milwaukee in June.
