Safety of hydrochloric acid

2003

My husband used Muriatic Acid as a cleaning agent and I am three months pregnant. Is there a need for concern? I did not assist him in the cleaning project but was in the house much of the day where he used the product.

Hydrochloric acid is dangerous in that it can burn you and it can cause very irritating fumes, but if you didn't find the fumes difficult to tolerate I don't think you have anything to worry about in this case. Naturally, if you don't feel well, you need to see a doctor rather than ask strangers for opinions over the Internet though.
