Restoring chrome finish

I splashed diluted muriatic acid on newly installed chrome shower faucet while cleaning tile grout and the chrome turned black. Is there a way to repair the finish?

Unfortunately for you, decorative chrome is very thin and Muriatic Acid

is an excellent solvent of chrome. Two choices, look at the ugly reminder of your boo-boo or replace it which is much cheaper than replating it.
