-----Gluing Porcelain to Copper for Teacup Bird Feeders
Q. My daughter and I are making teacup bird feeders. We normally drill a hole in each cup and saucer to attach to a steel pole that is wrapped in copper tubing. The problem is that we found some very low priced cups and saucers but they are too difficult to drill so we want to glue them to copper caps that will fit the rods we have. We have not found a glue that will hold. Any suggestions?

A. Hi Janice. But "too difficult to drill" with what kind of drill bit though? There are drill bits with diamond dust which I've used for drilling through ceramic and porcelain tile, and I can't even imagine a teacup taking more than a couple of minutes to drill through.
