Reflective Coating/metallizing Materials
1998
I currently have a light with two 35 watt halogen bulbs and am looking to reflect the most amount of light with a piece of brass, stainless steel, or alluminum. What would be the best process to get done to one of these materials for most light output, keeping in mind that the reflector will see approximatily 250F. Also, if you have any other comments it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You,
Joe

Aluminum makes a much better reflector than stainless or brass. The usual method is to bright dip and anodize the aluminum. Hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, of such relectors have been made for both indoor and outdoor use.

Dear Joe ,
Whilst I must agree with Ted , the ultimate in reflectivity is obtained with highly polished Silver on a Brass Substrate ask Rolls Royce it was their specified finish for headlight reflectors for years !
