Chrome plating on diecast aluminum

Are there any techinical issues I should be concerned with when chrome plating diecast aluminum (A380). Will this chrome plating have the same properties as a chrome plated zinc ? (resistance to corrosion, adhesion etc.)

It is pretty much the same thing except that aluminum cannot be electroplated directly; it requires an immersion plating in zincate before the cyanide copper strike. This tends to be less reliable in terms of adhesion. That is, it's easier for something to go wrong.
