Leaching of lead from brass faucets

Hi, Can anybody give me information about the release of lead from brass, or any other method to decrease the lead concentration of water which passes through our chrome plated faucets?

I would think Electroless Nickel prior to bright nickel & chrome would encapsulate the interior portions of the brass faucet preventing interior oxidation.
