Cleaning stainless rope

We are making Stainless steel ropes using 304 grade.

The wire we use is not very bright and as a result the rope made is not very bright has black tinge to it.

Is there any process by which we can improve the finish of the finished rope.

Use a better grade of wire. I suspect that your off colour is from an excess of drawing compound during the draw operation. A different compound might also help. James Watts

Degrease the wire and Passivate it. If the wire is dull or not bright prior to your mechanical operation, then consider changing the wire. Good luck..
