PVD finishing problems

Hello

I work in a company that coats its products with PVD (brass color mainly) the problem is that we are using a PVD coating with Ti (metallic layer) and then ZrCN. When the parts come out of the chamber they seem OK, but after a few time they become foggy and loose glow! Is there any theoretical explanation for this? With the microscope I've been able to notice that the roughness of the parts is a little higher then what it should be...but at the same time it seems that the parts absorb water vapor!

Can anybody give a little help with this?

Best Regards

Take care with: poor cleaning (Oil and other residues), buffing residues on plated parts and plating residues.
