Powdercoating Pretreatment

1998

Is iron phosphating used as a best pretreatment for exterior articles?

Are any laser devices or temperature gauging equipment by which any corner of oven temp can be measured.

Thanks.

Dear Anil Tiwari,

What is the substrate you are using? Aluminum? For aluminum yellow chromate conversion coating is the best, however there are new non-chromate coatings claimed equivalent or better than yellow chromate. For steel substrate, I think you are right, iron phosphate is the best.

There are several temperature "measuring and recording" instruments that travel with the work-piece in the oven so that you can see the temperature distribution vs time in the oven and of the work-piece itself. This is better than measuring temperature of the oven's atmosphere, I think.

Dear Sir:

For fear of oversimplifying pretreatment I won't list all the possibilities. You need to let everyone know:

in order to determine how and what you should use (materials, Methods ) of pretreatment.

Hi, Mr. Alford,

Unfortunately, the info you seek is so broad that it fills entire libraries. So, since we can't send the libraries to you, maybe we can direct you to those libraries. Alternately, you can start to build your own by subscribing to some of the powder coating magazines and obtaining some some powder coating books. Best of luck.
