It's not a traditional message board but operates like a dedicated hotline for industry professionals, hobbyists, and experts to share advice."

Vendor improvement for powder coating, electroplating

I am doing a project on vendors improvement for powder coating painting and electroplating: silver, tin, zinc (olive green passivation, yellow passivation). I want a standard process, which is applicable for small vendors. Please also tell me the critical parameters which need to be controlled.

Thank you,

Hi Nitin. As a starting point to try to do it your way, please see our "must have" booklist. Next, try to find ASTM standards for each of these processes.

Don't take this personally, but rather as a general comment about an industry where people spend a lifetime without learning it all: there is no such 'standard process', and you are simply not in a position to dictate to people who have the benefit of years of hands-on experience what they should change to improve the processing of the parts :-)

A better strategy might be to locate those shops which already know how to do quality processing, and to use them exclusively. This is already within your experience and area of expertise. Best of luck.
