Clear Coating

Is clear coating also required after polishing an aluminum frame? It would save a lot of time if it worked.

Aluminum is a very active metal which corrodes almost immediately. So, yes, a surface treatment is certainly required whether it be a clear coat or a colored coat, or an anodized finish.
