Black Chromating Iron Castings

We want to know how to do black chromating on Iron Castings - the process?

Your question is broad and vague :-)

Iron is not and cannot be directly chromated. It must be zinc plated or zinc-iron plated first. But most zinc-iron baths are alkaline and may not be suitable for plating onto cast iron. If you tell us who you are, why you want to know, and what you are trying to achieve, we may be able to suggest what to do.

Also the part function, and the spec for surface treatment.
