Embrittlement





Is Black oxide the best alternative for parts prone to hydrogen embrittlement if corrosion resistance is not an issue.

Doing nothing, or painting the part might be better because the parts may need to be acid cleaned before black oxide, and that step can induce hydrogen embrittlement. but they can be sand blasted to cleanliness instead.
