Zinc and Cadmium Plating Thickness Requirements

Out of various protective coatings for avoiding corrosion please inform if there is any International Standard for suggesting "minimum film thickness" of "Zinc plating with Yellow passivation" or Cadmium Plating, for Mild steel/ carbon steel parts used in machines.

If there is any feasible /economical solution equivalent alternative to above Zinc/ Cadmium plating , please suggest.(Apart from blackodizing/Ni/ Cr. plating)
