-----Electroless Nickel Activation
I have to zinc plate (alkaline bath) on electroless nickel plated parts. The question is: what is the best activation procedure to avoid any lack of adherence? I will appreciate any help.

After a dip in about 50% Hydrochloric Acid, and without any rinsing, plunge into a very strong (Woods) Nickel Chloride Strike, 2 #/gal Nickel Chloride and 2 pints/gallon Hydrochloric Acid, 'bout 6 volts cathodic on the part, 90 seconds, room temperature, RD Anodes (remove when not in use).

Puebla,
1. I think adherence problem due to nitrate contamination too high in your zinc tank.
2. or Electroless nickel tank get high nitrate.
3. Check plating time in your zinc tank , may be too long .
