Plating on be, copper components

We are doing gold plating on be copper components. After nickel and gold plating corrosive sort of brown patches appear on the components. Can any body suggest a good cleaning method for Be. Copper.

Thanks,

Alkali Soak Clean, optional mild electroclean, 2%/vol Sulfuric Acid, then plate in ANY acid formulation like copper sulphate on eBay or Amazon [affil link] or Nickel or Tin.

Be+ forms insoluble compounds in cyanide, so stay out of cyanide until the Be-Copper is covered. Best prep is just a strike in a cook book copper sulphate plating solution. STAY OUT OF CYANIDE.
