Water-Glass coating to deter white rust on Zinc

(1998)

I have tried to create a system which enhances my corrosion resistance to white rust. So far, I am using various compositions of chromate + activators (with varying pH, time and Temperature conditions). After drying, I am applying a "water glass"-type of coating (produced by someone else).

...and now the question...Do you know what additives I can add to this water glass coating to aid in corrosion resistance? If you could direct me to a company that sells an additive or has information on this I would appreciate it very much.

Thank You in advance.--Jim

p.s. As best as I can tell the biggest problem thus far is the alkalinity and silicate content of the water glass to introduction of additives...HELP
