-----Best coating for rust resistance for valves
We are looking to solve a problem with valves in water applications. Many of our customers will leave a valve in one position, not cycled, for months or years at a time. The valves usually rust in position and we are looking for a solution to this problem. Would Black Oxide coating work as a viable solution or is there another solution that would work better.

No, black oxide would probably be worthless. Electroless nickel sounds like a winner though.

Electroless nickel plated valves last indefinately. Use high phosphorus type. Electroless nickel is more expensive than some other coatings, but better by far. Black oxide will not be satisfactory.
