Answer to these word equations

Hello!

I am a year 8 student in England and I have been trying to find the answer to the following word equations: 1) sulfuric acid + sodium metabisulphite 2) sulfuric acid + sodium chloride

Any help would be appreciated a lot. Thanks!

I am not totally sure what you mean, but I think the answer may be:

1) sulfuric acid + sodium metabisulphite = sodium sulphate + sulfur dioxide + water

2) sulfuric acid + sodium chloride = sodium sulphate + hydrochloric acid.

I am surprised a year 8 student is being taught about sodium metabisulphite - it is not the sort of chemical you would normally encounter in a chemistry lesson at your age. Are you sure you have it right?
