Gold Finishing

1998

I am interested in learning about gold finishing processes that produce a high luster. I have heard about one process that uses cyanide and hydrogen peroxide. I understand this process is somewhat hazardous. Is there a safer process that can do the job (other than plating)? If not I would like to learn the details regarding the cyanide process. If anyone can help me or steer me to a source of information I would appreciate it very much.

Hi, Narvol. That procedure is called "gold bombing" or "peroxide bombing". If you search this site for "bombing" you will find many threads on the subject, and they should answer your questions. Good luck!
