Rhodium pen plating

Can you please explain correct procedure for pen plating rhodium to white gold. I am having a problem with the gold looking dark or tarnished.

My first thought is that you have your current turned up too high and you are not moving the pen tip fast enough to prevent burning. You may, also, have depleted or contaminated rhodium solution.

I hope this helps.

Dear John,

First check your pretreatment means your degreasing is proper or not (see there should be no water break) and then 5% sulphuric neutralizing dip and 2 water rinses. Soak tip 1/2 our before plating , always keep tip wet and follow the instruction given by Mr Neil.

Good luck,
