Home rechroming of fishing reel parts

Q. Can I rechrome small fishing reel parts at home. Thank you.

Q. Did you ever get an answer to rechroming of reel parts.

John Laurent
- Bartow, Florida

A. Hi. If you mean making them shiny, replating them in general, then it may be possible. If you literally mean chrome plating, then it's probably not practical. I think you will find our FAQ, "Intro to Chrome Plating" very informative on that issue. Good luck.
