Surface finish in Nickel Plating

What is the best way to get best surface finish ( Ra < 1 micro inch ) in Nickel Plating? Any post treatment suggestion welcomed.

Dear Payal,

Surface preparation before plating is the way to go for better RA values after plating.

If its electroplating then you may use levelers in addition to brighteners and wetters. Catch hold of the right chemistry supplier first.

An old joke in India about use of levelers was that they were meant to be added if the bath level went down as most suppliers use more water than chemicals anyway !
