Technical aspects of chrome plating for industrial usage

Hello,

I have a customer here in Thailand looking for relevant information on the internet about the parameters of chrome plating- including chemical compatibility, temperature range of chrome plating metals, what types of metals can be plated, and other questions. The customer is an oil refinery and wants detailed information. I have been looking for a good web site that would have some of this technical information that the customer can access. Can you direct me to any such web sites?

Thank you,

Hi, Steven. We have an FAQ: "Introduction to Chrome Plating" which I think your customer may find interesting! And if you or your customer has specific questions, we will be very pleased to do our best to answer them.

But for detailed and in-depth information, presented in tutorial or well-indexed fashion, you probably need books rather than a website because there needs to be an economic model whereby your customer can compensate the author for the very significant costs involved. People's expectation of everything being free on the internet has made it impossible to get authors committed to writing for the internet. Google pulled the plug on their "Google Answers" service which attempted to sell access to such answers on line. Even Google, with all their money, marketing power and technical prowess couldn't change the mindset and build a viable path to what you'd like.

Please pick some good books about chrome plating from our "Must have" booklist. Best of luck!
