Questions about PtAl coatings on Ni alloys

Dear People at finishing.com,

I am a graduate student working on protective coatings(aluminide coatings) for Ni alloys. I have a few questions about the current techniques/methods of processing the coatings.

1. In CVD aluminization, is it feasible to use aluminum trichloride powder as precursor rather than having to produce it in-situ by reacting aluminum pellets with HCl?

2. In electroplating of Pt onto the alloy, the substrate serves as the cathode, and the anode is a Pt coated article. What would be a good anode for this electroplating process and where could this be purchased/obtained?

Thank you very much.
