Ion Painting

We have a customer that sent us a blueprint from Japan requesting "Silver Metallic Ion Painting". We need to know what this is asking for. Powdercoat?

If it is a pure metal coating that looks like silver, it could be "Ion Plating", a vacuum metallization method. I am not familiar with Ion Paint.
